The Importance of Comparing Worldviews
Why have a whole week dedicated to comparing our culture's worldview to a Biblical worldview?
INTRODUCTION
Have you ever wondered why we have a whole week dedicated to comparing worldviews? It's because understanding our own worldview and comparing it with others is crucial for navigating through life. Our worldview, a collection of attitudes, values, and beliefs, plays a significant role in shaping our thoughts and actions.
But here's the startling reality: Christian parents are losing the battle. According to a Barna study, only 9% of born-again Christians have a biblical worldview. And even among devoutly religious people, the numbers are dishearteningly low. With postmodernism dominating the minds of the younger generations, it's essential to equip our children with the tools to critically analyze the deceptive belief systems they encounter on social media.
That's why, at our school, we're dedicated to providing students with a week focused on these pressing issues. During this time, they'll explore what scripture says about socialism, communism, racism, and sexualism. Our goal is to give them a balanced perspective, one that challenges the secular humanism they're exposed to daily. We want them to form their own personal faith, rather than relying solely on their parents' beliefs.
Let's not allow ourselves or our children to be deceived by the Deceiver. Instead, we must teach them how to live in the world like Christ did. By testing the spirits, remaining in fellowship with Christ, and being doers of the Word, they'll be equipped to confront the challenges and temptations they encounter.
